Two links

1. The next best thing to having this description of someone’s hopes for the new Jason Schwartzman vehicle show up in your mailbox is having La Coquette post it:

“I hope they show the part where Les Peuples grab the Princess de Polinac when she’s on rue Montorgeuil and tear her limb from limb before taking her severed head to the hair dresser to have it recoiffed so they could put it on a stick and shove it up in front of the window of where they were keeping Marie Antoinette in prison.”

“Oooh, me too.”

2. I laughed until I cried at handmade trash, and I can’t really explain why, but if you grew up with any kind of misguided, underemployed crafters in the family maybe it will make perfect sense to you, too. [via Yarn Harlot]

  • Oh My GOD.

    Handmade trash.

I am one with this site. I was born in 1970. I LOOKED like those kids. My mom crocheted me dresses, ponchos, toys…

I still have the toys. Shit, I should send in a pic.

  • Hey! I noticed some traffic that came from your way and wanted to say thanks. I’m glad you liked the Handmade Trash. That was one of those entries that I was afraid only I would find funny. It’s always good to know it’s not just me.

And Heather of the comment above, I would love nothing more than to see photos of your own worst knitmares. I’m thinking of putting togehter a readers’ gallery of handmade horrors. It seems that most people were subjected to at least one during their childhood. Whadaya got?

  • Eden, I love the new sidebar ad for yogabeans. Makes me wanna scream right back at ‘im!

  • Stitchy, I’m sending some pix your way. Tonite.

Weird thing is, I LOVE these things. I have a strange affinity for them. Well, the toys more than the clothes…heh.

  • Check out too. Funny, funny stuff in our world.

  • Thanks for the link to stitchy mcyarnpants. funny scary site!

  • I love Stitchy McYarnpants. It will go right next to Threadbared in my links list. Thanks!

  • Hmm. For some reason your blog is giving me a message that says your bandwidth has been exceeded. (I’m commenting on a cached copy – not sure if this will work.) Just letting you know in case there’s something that needs to be fixed…
