Day Thirty
My goodness, look what day it is!
I suppose I should say something inspirational about what I've learned while posting thirty days in a row but fuck that! Let's hear about the prizes!
It is my intention to handle all the random drawings myself, so that if anyone's going to be accused of rigging the game or favoring their friends it will be me and me alone (and I'm going to do neither, just so you know, but it had to be said since I appear to be the sole member and Governing Body of this organization).
The non-random drawings will be dealt with as follows:
How This Will Work
Basically, I'm just going to shut my eyes and scroll around the official participant list and click. If I click on a blog that hasn't been updated every day in November I will hit the "back" button and go again until I've picked winners for all the prizes. I know! It's exciting! I can hardly wait, but I will because you still have twelve hours, in this time zone anyway, to screw up. So don't blow it! Stay strong! And if you've run dry, remember: Don Rickles is a good friend at times like this.

The non-random drawings will be dealt with as follows:
1. All dog-related posts must be submitted to Emily for judging of the best dog post;If you have any other questions or suggestions, just leave them in the comments (i.e., don't e-mail me) (that isn't to say NEVER e-mail me, I enjoy getting e-mail, even the non-grovelly sort) so that everyone can benefit from me answering it there. I will go ahead and allow anonymous comments for the time being so that no one will be shut out.
2. If you think you wrote a great celebrity-oriented post, submit it to Nina to be entered to win a scrapbook of British tabloid fun;
3. Let Kyran know if your relationship didn't survive the month of November and you are eligible to win a copy of her "I'm Here for You, Girlfriend" (legally burned) iMix;
4. I believe that Javis Davis has already covered the "first pregnancy of NaBlo" prize;
5. All disaster bloggers need to let me know if they don't have an asterisk by their blog name yet -- if you missed a day of blogging due to emergency, illness, airport fuckups, technical difficulties, or any other ruthless obstacle AND you posted about it, you are eligible for the special Disaster Blogger Prize, which is an item of your choice from the BloMe Cafepress store, to which I have recently added Beaver merch. (I can put a beaver or a gun on just about anything they offer, I just don't understand how to make the cafepress page reflect that.)

:D can't wait for the prize drawing...
I've just used the randomizer a bit to see how people are doing on their last day of blogging and on many blogs (also mine) I see that people have created seals for "NaBloPoMo it's over"...so I guess one can say that you have inspired many many people to blog blog blog. Thanks for that anyways. I had gotten into the depression-phase with my blog. But after a force-feed of 30 posts I feel all refreshed and my blog seems to have a new meaning. THANK YOU for that!
Hope there will be NaBloPoMo 2007 as well?
is there going to be some sort of statistical data done on how many people stuck it out from the list? i'm curious, just not curious enough to click all the links (i believe there are over 18,578,218 links in the S category alone)
Thirty days completed and I lived to tell the tale! Yee haw!
I love blogging.
But I am so damn glad this is over.
Despite all the hardships at first, this month was actually a lot of fun. Thank you, Fussy! And it was great meeting so many dedicated (and obsesssive) bloggers. Can we up the stakes next November to posting once an hour?
Hooray! It's over!
Prizes for dog posts? Really? I had TWO of them this month.
(P.S. Thanks for doing this. It was fun.)
I loved it. Great fun!
I didn't have any posts in the above categories but what the hell....I managed to post every day! Just glad about that.
Thanks again! xox
this was fun.* I'm glad I did it. Goofus I am, I signed up for Holidailies too - gave me something to do.
Thanks so much for coming up with the idea! and I'd be happy to help alphabetize again next year if needed!
(do I get a prize for being the first suck-up?)
*no, really, it was. I couldn't complete my NaNoWriMo novel, so I'm glad I could complete this. I want a "winner" icon for this!
Does anyone have an e-mail for Emily? I can't get a comment to post on her blog.
I'm a little surprised I actually made it all thirty days, but I'm also quite proud of myself for it. Go. Me.
That being said, I could not be more relieved that I'm off the post-a-day hook now.
Thanks for...sponsoring?...governing?...whatever-ing NaBloPoMo, Mrs. Kennedy. This was fun.
Good fun and a kick in the pants for me to update 7 days a week!
Question about verifying ... I don't have a full month up at a time on my home page ... do you just click on the archive pages to see them all?
Whew ... well, back to finishing up my NaNoWriMo novel!
Just to give the prize-givers something back - even though I missed some days (no emergency save functional alcoholism) I will be contacting some of them to do some work for me...I need to jazz this business up with a 'custom masthead' (see how I've learned the lingo in these 30 days? Prize for learning? No? Damn.).
AND
If Typepad and Blogger and all of the others out there are not sending you a kickback for the hundreds of new folks you hooked, it's criminal.
That is all.
I will totally check the archives for all November posts.
I'm totally keeping my fingers crossed in hopes I'll win a bitching prize!
Blogger was wonky but Emily's blog is all better now, so . . . never mind.
Emily Litella
I submit myself for the disaster blog contest. The URL is http://sanchaanddale.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_sanchaanddale_archive.html (it's sort of hashed out in 3 days: Nov. 17, 19, 20. Sorry I don't know how to just give you the links for these)
OK, I've been trying to get my last post in all frickin' day but some parts of blogsome are on the blink. No response in their support forum yet. Please don't cut me off! I'll do my last post here http://reindeergames.blogsome.com/ since that one seems to be working. Dagnabbit!
Keep trying and don't forget, if you do end up posting on two blogs you need to mention the alternative blog post on your main blog (when you're able to post again) so you can join the asterisk (*) group.
YAY! It's over! To finish it off, I threw a video up (that sounds gross) that has a dog on it just like your Mrs. K! So freaking cute.
Woo Hoo for day 30!!! I made it and I'm proud. And tomorrow, I'm off for my very first mom only mini vacation! I think I deserve it after all this high pressure posting ;) Thanks for the post-more-often-push!
Sancha, honey, I'm not sure a visit from your grandmother counts as a "disaster."
I have never been so glad to see Dec 1 in all my life. But this was hella fun. Thanks so much for bringing us all together. (I now have the strangest urge to learn how to knit.)
This month went by so fast! Thanks, Ms. K, for organizing all this. I'm definitely taking part next year!
I hate to be a pain in the ass -- well, usually, anyway, and especially now -- BUT:
I really am not in this for the prizes. If you somehow hit my site in your random scrolling, please hit the back button and choose again.
If you remember. No stress either way. I know it's a lot to wade through, and there are lots of deserving charities around here.
Thank you for starting this. It's been very rewarding for me. But I'll get into all that elsewhere.
I also hope that you will be so kind as to leave the list of entrants up for at least a month so I can go through and visit everybody. The Randomizer was brilliant and magical (thank you, Pink Elephant), but I kept getting the same 50 over and over and really do wish to just go through and visit everybody else.
For some reason, I expect to have lots of time for this in December.
Whoo hooo!
I did it!
So pleased with myself, even though I usually blog a lot anyway....I was really self conscious about it.
This has been so much fun.....
I was fairly new to the Blogosphere when this started...and I've had so much fun reading so many cool blogs.
Thanks for the idea!
gina
Uh, did someone say they wanted a winner icon. I made one. Check my site.
http://writewizely.blogspot.com
for yours.
Yay! I loved this! It really freed me up to say the dumb stuff I usually wind up deleting. I'm usually far too self-concious. Keep me in mind if you'd like some help next year. I'm not the most Web-Savvy girl on the block, but I'd be happy to donate another prize or something.
I finished, and I think I'd have to name my first child after you, M. Kennedy, except she's already 13 and isn't willing to change it legally yet.
This was an awesome experiment. I found myself posting, not only daily, but several times many days. I've read a ton of blogs I'd never have found on my own, and I've felt like part of a web community in a way I've never felt before.
You rock. You rule. Let's do it again next year.
I'm not sure I count for the asterisk. My sons have been consecutively sick, one getting up to 104.8, and I did blog about it. Does that count. I don't think it does, but maybe you would.
I am so in this for the prizes....Do your clicking in the H's.
I'm not sure whether I should be an asterisk, because I had a cock-up with the times when we put the clocks back at the end of October and I didn't notice. So it looks like I didn't post every day, but it's just there are three or four that I published after 11 pm, which got logged the next day, until I realised what was going on and fixed it. So I did blog every single day. Honest! My URL is www.goingtopieces.wordpress.com.
And there were no pictures of Don Rickles.
Congrats to everyone who completed or even attempted!
Thanks M. Kennedy for arranging this. :)
Thanks for making this happen. It's been a good experience. Yay for everyone who participated.
What fun! Thanks so much for organizing this month!
Pick me! Pick me! I need the coffee!
Haha--but really, to repeat everyone else, thanks for sponsoring this. You've done a fine job.
And prizes! fun, fun, fun.
Thank you for this. I had no idea it would affect me how it has.
Well that was a blast. Just so you know, I am definitely keeping the Randomizer up... maybe even until next year! (And I will of course do it all again next year, as long as you do!)
Keep me in mind if you want help with the official nablopomo.com site for next year. I'll definitely be happy to lend a hand in any capacity I can.
I don't think I was this relieved when I met the big three-oh the first time. No casualties though...unless you count my recycle bin which is full of merlot bottles. Uh oh wait a minute those bottles are from my Thanksgiving survival kit....funny I never did use the duct tape...
Thanks Mrs. K! You are the hostess with the mostest.
This was much, much fun. I'm almost sad that it's over.
I actually had a relationship that never happened and ended-up blogging about my regrets and sadness from unrequited love for my first NaBloPoMo entry. Do you think that'd count?
I had a disaster but didn't put an asterik by my post. i was in the hospital with one of my 15 month old triplets who had vomited on me 2.3 billion times in three days. during my stay, my hosting company suspended my site because i had changed my debit card number and didn't update it with them. i got back online the next day and my post i had written the day before was up but it wasn't technically up before midnight. oy.
I would be happy to help out in the endeavor, too. This was a great hit and in preparation for next year, if there are collective forces donating their time, it will be even better. IE: Tackling the sign up list and keeping it up to date.
Congrats to everyone who made it through and thanks to Fussy for making it all possible.
I expected it to be easier. Praise to daily bloggers. And thank you, M. Kennedy, for the big shove to get all of us too pathetic to write a novel to at least manage a blog post a day.
Even with a 4-day road trip (and NOT every motel that says "WIFI ready" actually is--ready but not willing), I made it!
Congratulations to everyone.
http://www.leftoutfront.com
I think Lane should get a special prize for creating the Randomizer. I wish I had something cool to offer, but I'm just not slick like that.
I had a relationship end, but I didn't blog about it. I wasn't going to waste my breath. I'll just say I decided he wasn't right for after I caught him breaking into my house. yeah.
All hail the Rickles.
I'm definitely in it for the prizes, one in particular: Matt Hooker's sweet oil painting of a turkey. I already have a name picked out for him and everything.
Whew! NaBloPoMo was hard. Posting for thirty days straight took a lot out of me. Those kids in Darfur don't know how lucky they have it.
(Rebecca from sporky.net--Blogger won't let me be my identity today for some reason.)
M. K-
You must have so much free time now. Let me help. Can you make some "Finisher" crap- buttons, cafepress- to honor the long-distance athletes we all are?
It looks like writewizely has a button, which is supercool, but something direct from Fussy hq would also be inquisitive!
Thanks.
Congrats everybody!
i am very glad i did this, very tired, very so going to bed ...
and m.kennedy you're being talked about on my blog.
i don't care about the prizes but i want an officially sanctioned winner badge.
... oh ... and i want the randomizer to work for the rest of the year.
and if i think of any other "requests," i'll be back.
thank you very much!
have fun,
pam
Lane - that's awesome the Randomizer will stay up! I didn't have as much time to surf other NaBloPoMo blogs as I hoped this month, so will be catching up!
I'm totally in it for the prizes too.
And just in case a miracle happens and Mrs Kennedy clicks on my blog, I'd like to point out that although clicking on the NaBloPoMo category in the tags might give the impression I didn't post every day, that's only because I was tagging only pictures of parrots with NaBlogPoMo rather than tagging every post I wrote in November (don't ask). The drop-down archives for November hold the true story: which was that I posted 65 fricking times! (Is there a special prize for that?) And didn't miss a day.
I'm so proud of me.
\end{narcissistic rant}
Thanks for organizing this, I've enjoyed it and I am doing Holidailies in Dec and 365 photos starting in Jan 07. I guess I have no life. I really do have a life :-)
That was way cool. Thanks for coming up with the idea and shepherding it through, Ms. Kennedy! Even though I blew it by spacing out one day, it was still an interesting experience. Gives one new respect for people who post every single day without fail! Or daily columnists (though they get breaks on the weekends).
I'm spent. So glad it's over and we did it! Do some scrolling down to the R's.
Thanks M.Kennedy for organizing this for all of us ruthless prizemongers.
My husband (ahem geek ahem) suggested you cut and paste all the names into an excel spreadsheet and have it do a random number generator. I know, I bet you want to throw something at him too!
Asterix?
Where?
I survived a five day power outage and only missed one day. It's still bugging me.
I feel like a loser.
I am surprisingly puffed up with self-congratulation this evening!
I suppose I should have an asterisk as well, since my host went down for 18 bloody hours late in the game and ousted me on the 29th.
Mine is easy to track Mrs. K: go here:
http://www.troll-baby.com/archives/
I finished! Hooray for me and all of you! It was a great experience, even though I wanted to give it up with my FIL died, but instead I created a tribute to him all week long. The family loved it.
And to Pink Elephants, thanks for opportunity to meet all these great bloggers through the NaBloRando. LOVED IT!
Okay I had like 3 missed days. I need one of those * thingies please. Thanks.
I did it! I actually posted 30 days in a row. Of course 25 of the 30 posts were crap, but I did it!
Love the Randomizer & I'm glad it's staying up for a while.
Next time I'll have to have a posting plan!
Thanks, Mrs. Kennedy.
I survived..woohooo.
I also hope for an '07 nablopomo! The last few days went by so fast
It's over! I'm simultaneously relieved and disappointed.
I am, however, proud that I managed the 30 days.
Thanks, M.Kennedy!
Yay! I made it 30 days. I'm one of of the "y" blogs so I'm afraid I may have escaped notice, but I would like to say thank you for putting this together. It was a cool experiment and I'm glad I tried it. I learned enough that I'm still trying to figure it all out.
What happens to the people who started the shennanigans a little late in the game? Are we (and by that, I mean "I") shit out of luck?
I'm not sure if I qualify for an asterix. My internet connection went down completely for a week this month! I post-posted for those days and almost all of the posts are about how frustrated I was, but my frustration led to missing a few days towards the end of the month, so I understand if I don't qualify for the asterix.
Thanks for organizing this M Kennedy! It was really fun to check out all these other blogs.
Both of my blogs were successful. I feel super duper fly. Or something.
i had fun, too. i didn't think i'd do it! and i didn't rely on blogthings, either!! woo-hoo
thank you, i hope to do it again next year.
This was pretty much the best blog meme ever. I feel serene and accomplished and ready to do something fun without taking photos so I can blog about it later!
Thanks - and see you next year.
Yay! Blogsome released my blog from its clutches, so last post(s) accomplished.
So glad the randomizer is going to stay up. You should market that for people to use with their blogrolls. . .
Also, is there any way we could put up a frappr map (or something similar) to see everybody's locations. I'm a geek for maps. :)
It's over (once I submit my last post in an hour or two)! Bring on the prizes :-)
This post has been removed by a blog administrator.
yee haw! way to go everyone! i am so glad the randomizer is staying. thanks for the fun.
I posted everyday but blogger didn't publish one of mine until the next day. I was true, dammit!
Also I cannot post a comment or find any email for Emily...?
Thirty days of posting has been quite the ordeal, hasn't it? Exultant, too. And even though my manuscript is due to the publishers in a month, I found that -- perversely -- my posts grew longer, with more recipes, as the month went on.
whew.
Congratulations to everyone. I loved reading all these new blogs. Thank you, m. kennedy.
Thanks for all the hard work that went into organizing this NaBloPoMo thing. It was a challenge just to participate, I can't imagine being at the helm!
You know, I really enjoyed the daily posting. Thanks for setting this up!
This was fun and hard. But you really deserve the kudos for staying sane through it all.
Thank you for your efforts.
And, if I don't win a prize, that's cool too. I found a lot of really interesting blogs along the way so that really is the best prize of all.
So poignant that the last day of NaBloPoMo coincides with the last day of hurricane season. We here in Louisiana are grateful. And I am grateful to you for presenting this opportunity to me, though I had to hijack my grandparents' dial-up connection to do it right.
I want my PoMoscar!!!!
Or I'll settle for that there embroidered shirt...
Thanks to Ms. Kennedy for coming up with and hosting this idea! While it was tough to get in all 30 days, I managed to do it and I enjoyed checking out everyone else's blogs too!
My fingers are crossed for a prize!
Well, that was both great fun and bloody hard work. Thank you, dear Mrs. K, for having had the idea and then following up on it. You've earned big karma points for this!
See you in 2007 - or at the prizegiving ceremony.
We made it!!!!!!!!! Thanks for hosting it !
Thanks Ms. Kennedy! This has been great.
I want that turkey painting. I want it bad.
Don't know if this qualifies me for #5 or not, but I missed a day of posting because the power went out and then posted about it the next day... http://jamrmiller.blogspot.com/2006/11/day-twenty-good-excuse.html
Thank you very much for organizing this!
I enjoyed it very much, and I too must say, "Yay me!!" 30 days of consecutive posts!
I was very surprised to find my blog in Rashenbo's Top 10 S Blogs
But am still hoping for prizes - bring on the swag!
My Blog Stinky Mouse
No, no, it wasn't the visit from my grandmother that was the disaster..it was the forcible detention that followed (no warning, whisked off in an unmarked car to a secret prison)! I had no internet access at the kennel!
Btw, thanks for doing this. It was fun to do something besides bark all the time.
Woo hoo I made it!!!
It was fun. Thanks again for heading this up.
Alyssa
www.shoppingwiththepreppyprincess.blogspot.com
thank you for the fun, excitement, anxiety, etc etc that I have experienced this month! I will definitely continue to read your blog all year 'round.
Alas! I missed a day. One, single, solitary day.
And even more alas, I missed it not because of disaster, but because of shiny happity things.
Our children were gone for the weekend, and so my husband and I went out (albeit a little early) for our anniversary. I remembered that I was supposed to post somewhere around 2 am, when it was far too late.
So, I don't expect that qualifies me for an asterisk...unless you're giving out shiny, happy asterisks!
Still, a fun idea, and even entertaining in practice. I felt like I had to stretch my brain a little, and I definately want to do this next year.
Thanks, Eden! It was fun! I appreciate being pushed to blog everyday, but I even MORE appreciate some consistency from your own blog. ;)
Big sigh! and Thanks!
Thanks for doing this, M. Kennedy, even if I didn't make the survivor cut. It was big fun to participate, and even more fun to watch. You are a brave soul, indeed, and I congratulate ALL those with the fortitude to make it to the end!
Thanks for all your hard work, Mrs. K. And thank you Lane for the awesome randomizer (glad I get to explore more blogs at my leisure, now).
I'm proud of myself for posting everyday - but I'm sad to have discovered daily posting did NOT bring back the Joie de Blog for me. But that's something I needed to know - if it's not fun, there's no point in having a blog at all. It made for an introspective November - and a boring blog. ;)
http://bluebelle.blogs.com
whew! I am pleasantly surprised at how much fun this last month has been. Having said that, though, I'm taking tomorrow off!
(fingers crossed for a cool prize!)
I'm so glad the randomizer is staying up! Is it okay to use the randomizer button that's on the NaBloPoMo page? (uploaded to my own space, of course!)
NaBloPoMo Rocked!!! Thanks so much!! I do hope there is a second annual.
And it would be great if someone could create a badge for those who did it.
I survived NaBloPoMo 2006!
You could add a new one for each year you participate.
I'd do it, but I'm still using the blogger template--I'm that unITliterate.
Thanks again!!!
This was a blast! Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for all the work that you put into this whole thing. I was surprised that I was able to find something to blog about for 30 days. I'm happy it's over...will we be doing this again next year?
umm, just wanted to note that I was the 100th comment above. Do I get a prezzie for that??
Can't wait! Pick me! Pick me! :-)
Thanks so much for the challenge. I made it and I made a lot of new friends. Looking forward to next year.
Fussy. This. Was. Awesome.
Thank you.
I updated everyday, but you'd have to check my calendar to verify that.
http://elaynne.livejournal.com/calendar
I am telling you, posting everyday was very hard but I managed to do it.
Thank you! I made it. Damn near killed me, too.
I lost power on Sunday because of the snow and couldn't post but I made up for it with 2 posts the next day. Does that count as a 'disaster'?
How about another Yoda button for the completors "There is no try, there is only blog." Or some such folderal.
Thank you M. Kennedy.
So if we had to post elsewhere because our server was down, even though we were at the computer and trying to post we're consolationprizers?
:/
Not a frown at whatever that means for prizes, because while it's fun to get one, I would have done this without prizes offered.. but it's kind of a letdown to not be a "Winner" in name. Oh well.
http://cristy.straussonline.com/blog/index.php/2006/11/24/
Well. Apparently I managed to get my explanation post in a minute before midnight anyway. Yay I did it!
Thanks so much, Fussy, for coming up with such a great idea.
I know it probably ended up taking over your whole life!
halla-freaking-lulia! it's over! and i did it! i'm so excited and proud to say that i blogged every freaking day in november! and you know what? i actually enjoyed it and looked forward to it! but i am glad it's over and the pressure is off... especially since my to do list... posted as my last entry.... is quite long and overdue!
anyway... thanks so much for doing this! this was an awesome idea!!!!!!
and i'm now sending you turkey painting vibes for you to click on my name... hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... did they get to you yet?????
