Winners were chosen by using the Random Number Generator feature in Microsoft Excel. I'll never be a statistician, but I got it working and all sites were chosen fairly and squarely.
You have no idea how many people came this close to winning, but that one skipped post -- that one, "Whoops! I guess I shouldn't have had so much wine last night, oh well, I probably wouldn't have won anything anyway" -- kept them from actually winning something. Seriously, people, stick with it next year!

64 Comments:
What a shame you've left out some great sites in favor of liberal junk.
WTF? They were all randomly chosen. This is why I'm turning off anonymous comments.
It was fabulous. The whole thing. Not for nothing, but I mentioned that I triple posted some days with my normal entry, my Cuppa the Day entry, and my NaBloShoeMo entry.
In my best "The Color Purple" accent, let me say: "I's tired".
Twas fun, my dear. Cheers to you for pulling it off and becoming rich and famous. Meet me in the bar sometime, would ya?
The bar, by the way, is at the end of the hallway in the psych ward I'm in due to NaBloPoMoing it for 30 days straight...
Oooohh...someone is bitter.
Rats.
Ooooo! Congratulations to all you prize winners and all you finishers who didn't win tangible prizes!
Congrats to all the winners! I did a random drawing for a contest on my blog last month too and ended up choosing my sister-in-law as the winner. People were NOT happy. But it's the only realistic way to do it usually - especially with NaBloPoMo when there were hundreds of blogs in the contest!
I love the T.F.I. picture! Totally how I feel right now. But they say it only takes 20 some days to form a habit and I think I'm hooked!
I'm so sad that I didn't win anything. Oh well, there's always next year. Maybe I'll have better luck or more interesting posts. I posted each day though :(
If I had computer graphic skills, I would make an "I posted for 30 days in a row and all I got was this lousy sense of accomplishment" banner for all of us who didn't wine prizes.
Tell anonymous that even some of us damn liberals went home empty handed.
Do you have an estimate of how many people finished? Maybe we could have 27 people volunteer to check a category? I'll check the 0-1 category!
*sigh*
I got beaten by the randomizer, rather than the challenge. Goldarnit!
someone is bitter - my coblogger. she's at home crying into her bottle(s) of red wine over the loss of that turkey painting.
Jes from Chirky.com sent me a document with all the people in the O category listing who had and hadn't dropped out by Nov. 24. Exactly half had stopped posting by then.
Many people were reviewing chunks of the list, don't know if they got together any statistics, though.
Antonia rocks for making us losers a badge thingy of our very own to cherish. :) Snagged it, AND posted it.
(And I totally dont blame you for turning off the anonymous comments... what the eff was that about?!)
I just wanted to say thanks for NaBloPoMo. It was my first time participating in something like this and I had a great time.
Sincerely,
Poster of Liberal Junk
i love you. honestly.
Thank you. You are awesome. Thanks for all of your hard work!
Thanks for inspiring so many of us liberals to spew our junk for a month! ;)
i'm sooooooooooooo saddddddddd. i'm a big fat f****** loser. well, except for the big and fat part. :( i hope i haven't lost my joie de blogre.
I haven't looked at the winning blogs yet so maybe this is a moot point, but...choosing randomly doesn't necessarily mean you will be awarding the best writers, photographers, whatever... but maybe that's not the aim here. And that's not to say I would have won if you had used that as a criteria. Everything is so subjective anyway. Congratulations to all the winners.
BFFL
Damn. I never win anything. WAAHHHHHH! :'(
Robbed, I tell you! I've been robbed!!
~shakes fists~
Oh yea, and congrat's to all the winners, yada yada. Pft.
This really was a lot of fun.It got me started.I didn't do it for the prizes. I'm doing Holidailies and starting in 2007 I will be doing 365 Photos. VAMOM's 76 was a winner and I'm happy for her. Thanks again for doing this.
Shirt, the aim here was to reward mindless tenacity in the least thoughtful way possible.
Ha. I see. Well then, maybe it all worked out. Again, I haven't had time to look at the winners. But maybe next year we can aim higher than mindless tenacity?! Wouldn't that kill two birds with one stone, not merely to blog but to blog well? :)
I think I'm a little dense today. What is TFI December? Is it supposed to be like TGI Decmber?
*Sits in corner with dunce cap*
Yes. The F rhymes with duck and you mustn't repeat it in front of the children or God will kill a kitten.
Wow. How about making NaBloPoMo a non-prize winning event? Or make it like Blogathon; do it for charity?
We couldn't all win.
wow....not one blog that I new or frequent won a prize.
which makes me feel a teeeeeny bit better that I didn't win anything DESPITE POSTING MORE THAN ONCE A DAY ALMOST EVERYDAY!
Ok..I am ok now...
Congrats to the winners!!!
Congrats to the winners! I'm not bitter!
...much. Harumph! *grabs a button*
This has been a wonderful time, Fuzzy. (And thank you Mocha Momma!). Not only have I met some really interesting people, but I've really enjoyed writing and just don't want it to end! Maybe we could do a post for 352 days straight?!
congratulations to all the winners, especially smackey of smackey.vox.com, whose excitement and gratitude over receiving my prize has been really awesome!
m. kennedy, you are rad. writers of liberal junk adore you, what more could attest to your radness?? heh.
Wow! Congrats to everyone! It was really a lot of fun!
Congratulations and thanks to everyone who entered and tried. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who completed 30 days of posting. Congratulations to everyone who wanted a prize and won one. Extra-special congratulations to everyone who entered to be considered for a merit-based prize and won, or who won for stuff like getting pregnant or breaking up a relationship.
I do love the "IBluNaBloPoMo" badge. That's beautiful. It almost makes me wish I'd missed a day in November. Or taken a drink. All I got to drink was chicken soup I had to make for myself and the CVS generic version of NyQuil, and the latter didn't even come in shots but in gelcaps. (sigh)
Seeing as how I'm a poster of oftimes liberal junk (over and above all my strictly nonpartisan junk), and seeing as how, having worked in food retail during the holidays several years in a row, I now hate all things holiday-themed almost as much as I hate babies, our troops, and heterosexual marriage, I have in mind some non-holiday themed seals including gun and bear themes, but I am still resting up from computer overexposure. If someone beats me to it, groovy. If not, I will try to submit them sometime this week.
Thanks, Fussy. This was a blast, and it really helped me.
Damn it - I wanted that turkey. Here's hoping Matt makes more.
Nonetheless, it was fun while it lasted and I found some new librarians in the process.
And nuts to all the snarks who are all "award good writing" blah blah blah. The goal was to just do it. I am not a writer, nor have I ever fancied myself one. I participated to prove I could do 30 posts in a row.
And I did. Now I'll take my loser badge and descend back into lurk-dom.
I just want to know what TFI means?
Congrats to all blogs who faced the challenge head-on and won simply by completing the task!
WTG winners of the prizes.
Thanks for organizing this, it was a fun challenge. Congrats to the prize winners!!
FYI to all who are curious, Fried Dreams worked through all the letters in the latter half of the month and offered fail-statistics for each.
Honestly, a prize was the farthest thing from my mind during the event, as I was just thrilled to blog with quality and meet new people. All the same, i will cherish my mug forever and ever.
But, seriously, i read every blog, reviewed 10% of all participants, and recorded 30 new songs. I think it's safe to say i worked my freakin' tail off for NaBloPoMo.
Thanks for the Fried Dreams link, Peter, I hadn't seen that yet!
BOO! So sad... But, I feel so proud of myself for sticking with it!! And I'm also glad I found so many new, great blogs. That, in itself, is a great prize!
Thanks for putting NaBloPoMo together!
Thank you to Eden and everyone who put their hard work into this - you guys are wonderful! I can't even imagine how much work it was.
Congrats to all the winners too!
Congrats everyone!
P.S. *cough cough* Wasn't the blanket supposed to go to an UNDER 25-year-old blogger?
Congrats to the winners...no sour grapes from this end of the blogosphere. I am more scared that I am in fact the poster girl definition of a Liberal poster...or maybe not. At least I knew what TFI stood for, I don't feel too much like a soccer mom now.
Yay! I won! Thanks to Eden and to Jim for donating the gift!
Fussy, it's been great. Thanks so much!
Clumsyraine, thank you for asking and Antonia, thank you for answering. I can't believe I couldn't figure it out.
*hangs head in uncool shame*
I had a great time. I met some really great blogs and have a freakishly long list to go through now to look for more. Thanks Fussy. I NEVER expected to win anything, so it's super that MKP got picked. I don't exactly know what I've won and I'm afraid I'm not a gamer at all. If anybody wants to trade with me...I might consider it..
I feel so lucky! You can be sure that I will wear my NaBloPoMo beaver t-shirt with pride. (Chuckling like a maniac.) Seriously, NaBloPoMo is great, and I found some really fantastic blogs through it, as if I had time to read more blogs on a daily basis.
Cheers!
How bout I finished 30 days of Nablopomo and all i got was this lousey badge(or banner) or t-shirt! for the booby prizes.
I've already decided I'm doing the drinking one next year.
cheers and thanks for your dilligence.
Congrats to the prize-winners and to everyone who managed to post each day. It was fun!
Might there be an extra-special, not-as-of-yet-awarded consolation prize for those who made it successfully through DecBloPoMo despite receiving a diagnosis of aggressive, metastatic cancer. . . Now, that is quite a feat. Check out notjustaboutcancer.blogspot.com/
Thank you, Fussy, for organizing this and moderating. Thank you to ALL the people who donated prizes!
The funniest part was when one of my readers said she would miss my daily posts now that November was over. Didn't she notice that I was posting daily before the contest?
Heeee!
K
Cool! Congrats to everyone :-) Can't wait to participate next year.
Apathy, Apathy,
A-p-a, aw, the hell with it.
Dammit, we had TWO bloggers in this household who posted as much liberal junk as possible in November and nary a prize did we see. We'll just have to post more liberal junk in December and hope that Santa & Hanukkah Harry don't use Excel. :)
Congrats to the winners, even though I am very very very bitter, but my grapes, they are sweeeet. (<-- I don't know what that means about the grapes, but I just didn't want them to be bitter) Onward to NaBloCoMo.
Yay! Congrats, Winners!
This was so awesome! I found some really great new blogs to read.
Congrats to the winners!!!
Pardon my ignorance... what does T.F.I. stand for? (Maybe I'll get it after I've had my coffee.)
Hey! It's a LiberalJunk Blog Ring!
Except I post liberal junk, and I didn't win.
Congrats to those whom the goddess of randomness has blessed.
And I hope you do this again next year.
T.F.I. = "Thank Fuck It's December."
Next year, I will not miss posting all 30 days by 35 minutes. I swear it.
No sour grapes here either...I had a great time and met some marvelous bloggers through the experience!
Congratulations to all the winners! Everyone rocks!
Well, I didn't get in quick enough to be a poster but I did make a commenting challenge for myself and I have commented on an awful lot of blogs this month. It was so great I am thinking maybe of creating a blog commenting challenge - m.kennedy, do you think this could be an idea? ;)
I forgot to check to see my name until today.
Duh!
I can't wait to get my t-shirt!
Thanks, this was so much fun!

I know this will sound hokey, but. . .I feel like a winner for commiting to something AND getting it done. In addition, I added tons of great information and my blog (ok, I admit, there were fluff posts too) is REALLY starting to serve its purpose.
Besides, I loved the Randomizer and now I am addicted to blogging. Yep. Addicted. Get me my 12 step program, I'm ready to be powerless.
A (very) belated thanks to all of those kind folks who did soem serious work on getting this idea off the ground and successfully completng it.
Any idea as to how many of us as % to total actually wrote 30 out of 30 days?
I was a bit shocked that Isoglossia didn't get at least one award.
He :
1) Is a guy, which means he's in the minority of the folks that signed up and completed the 30 day deal.
2) Didn't write about cats. Not once. Thank God.
3) Is from a foreign country, that being Slovenia.
4) Is quite the witty guy.
5) Did not once mention the toils of writing each day during the 30 days or take a cheap out when material was scarce for writing.
