Out of Sight, by Elmore Leonard
Slick banter and crisp plotting as a criminal and the federal marshal out to catch him try to decide whether or not they should sleep together.

I thought this was going to be just a regular crime mystery, good for plane reading but I really got into it and I thought the movie version did it justice. When I saw the casting I thought Clooney would bypass the sad sackery of the main character but he pulled it off, while still making the prospect of being locked in a trunk with a guy fresh out of the sewer seem appealing.
What if you’ve already seen the movie? (Which, by the way, stands testament to the fact that Jennifer Lopez is a very talented woman.) Still good?
I’m following you, Robin! I read this after seeing the movie, but I found it strong enough to override the casting that had already been placed in my head.
