Wow, phoning it in two days in a row. You’d think I was losing enthusiasm for this event.
But look! It’s another pair of shoes.
Blundstones, purchased about ten years ago at the old Pure Gold on State Street when they were dumping their stock to go out of business. Perfect for wet weather. Australian! Not much support but I don’t need them that much, living as I do in a place that alternates between fog, mist, soul-warming winter sun, and partly-cloudy.

I’m amazed at how many of your shoes you’ve had for years. I don’t think I have a single pair that has lasted quite so long.

I know! I’m proud that I have some that are 3 years old. I don’t have the right level of shoe commitment I suppose. Too fickle.
I want to love my Blundstones (almost identical, but square-toed, black), but you’re too right about the support. I took them as my only shoes on a long weekend trip and came home limping, so fully had they betrayed me.
I can’t live without my Blundstones. You know my maid of honour wore Blundstones at my wedding. *sigh* – now I must go hit the Australian Boot Company downtown.
I am also impressed at Mrs. Kennedy’s long-lasting shoes. I pledge to buy more quality shoes in the future.
I actually have a pair of faux-Blundstones, by Born (whose shoes are usually of fantastic quality, BTW) but the elastic is already giving out on one of them.
Blundstone tip- slide in some lovely, supportive hiking insoles and they become some of the most comfortable shoes you could hope to tromp around in. Blundstone doesn’t talk it up much, but they make their shoes so that they will fit insoles easily and they kind of mean for you to put some in.
Bossy’s getting a kick (no pun intended) over imagining the scuff marks now appearing on your little half-wall.
I’m wearing my Blunnies right now. They’re pretty much my favorite shoes ever.
Ahem – they are Tasmanian, thanks. And probably now a collector’s item since the factory here closed down in October.
The models of their later years had much softer soles. I still wear a pair circa 1996 with soles made of poured concrete. At least, that’s the way they feel.

I have never heard of these…I’m learning so much, Mrs.K.
I can’t live without these in Vancouver.
Got some of these myself about the same time. I wear them all the time in the winter. And I’m a dude.
