New Year’s Eve, 8:00 p.m.

On January 7, 2008 by Eden M. Kennedy

Jackson fell asleep on my lap new year’s eve while we were watching the first three episodes of season one of Saturday Night Live. He was awake long enough to see Andy Kaufman lip-synching the Mighty Mouse song (“Here I come to save the day!“), which he made us rewind twice, but he conked out before the amazing and neverending Simon and Garfunkel reunion (they cut all the sketches to make room for the music, can you imagine that happening now?).

(Wikipedia chronologically lists all the SNL hosts and musical guests here.)

  • Man, that brings me back. I can’t believe how many of those shows I remember seeing when they were first broadcast.

Don’t tell my kids, I don’t let them stay up that late! ;)

  • Those early seasons don’t really hold up well, except for the musical guests, which were just incredible, and yeah, everything Kaufman did. Still, a nice way to ring in the new year.
