Who's Pushing the Pedals on the Season Cycle?

In honor of the cyclical nature of blogging, here are movies 36 through 41 on my Netflix queue, again:

36. TMNT
CGI turtles!

37. Zack Galifianakis: Live
I kind of don't have enough patience for Zack Galifianakis, but I sure have learned to spell his name correctly.

38. I'm Alan Partridge, series 1, disc 1
British shenanigans of some sort.

39. Being Julia
This has been out so long now I can't even remember what it's about. What with list rearrangement and new releases this will probably never rise above #15.

40. 49 Up
I will probably just Tivo this at some point, it's one of those things that fairly defines the mission of public television.

41. Gator
There was a Burt Reynolds kick last summer? I throw up my hands.

Annette Bening is brilliant in Being Julia! I loved that one. I got bored with the 7Up! Series and stopped after 35. Let us know how that one is if it ever makes it to the top!

Being Julia! *That's* the name of the movie that we sometimes recall fondly, but cannot for the life of us remember the name. Thumbs up.

I LOVE Alan Partridge. Brilliant British comedy.

I can't even believe you quoted XTC as the title of your post. Squee! Skylarking is one of my top 5 albums of all time, and the soundtrack for my junior year of high school. I am hereby speaking up to let you know that you and I both rule simultaneously for knowing that album.

Didn't that poor Neil commit suicide? I think I watched up to 28 Up. Ahh, England, how I miss thee.

Oh! Good! "And what's happened to Neil? A happy child in "7 Up," he was, by age 28, wandering lonely and homeless in the Highlands. He surprised viewers when, in "42 Up," he was rediscovered working as a Liberal Democrat councillor in Hackney. The once-homeless man hoped to win a seat in parliament. Has he succeeded? Has he still got a roof over his head?"

Alan Partridge = Hilarious. The driest of British humor. You'll enjoy it.

I love the Up series so much that I can't bring myself to watch 49 yet... and renting on Netflix means that you can hear what Michael Apted has to say (his interview on 42 Up was funny and wonderful, his refrain "I live in hope" regarding those who have opted out).

We have TMNT saved on our DVR right now, because we're gluttons for punishment like that.

I enjoyed 49 Up but it was the only one I had ever watched. Not sure I could watch each one in the series. Thought the first two might interest me the most.

Ha, Bill, I think Neil only committed suicide in all of our fearful minds. I was sure it was coming. I don't think I've ever wanted so badly just to FIX someone.

Was he the one living in a little trailer and looking too thin? If so, I agree with Sara.

I know exactly what you mean regarding Zack G. He's a genius if you're under 30, but after that age, he's kind of, "Yeah, that's clever. Next."

Ah, XTC, brings back memories of university! Loved that album.

Your next Netflix post will consist of I'm Alan Partridge series 1, disc 2. I'm Alan Partridge series 2, disc 1, 2. Time out for weeping, for there is no more Alan Partridge.

(you can also get the series 'prequel', Knowing Me, Knowing You (ah-hah!). It's not as funny, however.

you have such a treat in store!
