Homemade Hot Pads

On August 22, 2008 by Eden M. Kennedy

I think my brother Tim made those on some sort of 1960s Cub Scout hot-pad loom. The dirty white one in back my mom crocheted, I remember that. Those corn-cob holders are older than me.

  • I love the brain-like maze of these potholders. Bright and cheery, too!

  • I had one of those – it was called a Loom Looper – I made more pot holders – what a stocking stuffer!

  • Ahhh, my folks have those corn-stickers too. I got them some new and very cute wiener-dog ones, but they still insist on using their ancient ones. Uh, not that I’m calling you ancient, far from it…I’ll stop now. :)

  • I love the waviness of the weave and the color combination. My parents have the same corn cob holders, some with two pointy things and some with little knives. We have green plastic Pampered Chef ones that we never remember to use.

  • Same corn cob holders here, too.

  • Good theme … my parents have those old corn cob holders as well … and my mother has kept the potholders I made in elementary school. Wow! Great fun.
