Rollercoaster 1 and 2

On August 6, 2008 by Eden M. Kennedy

I believe this is The Great American Scream Machine California Screamin’ at Disney’s California Adventure park. Jackson and I were standing in a 40-minute line for Toy Story Midway Mania (the first time, which is what prompted us to drag Jack back to see it himself the next day) which put us across the boardwalk and right next to the tracks to this thing that I wouldn’t ride on a bet, unless that bet were for a million, billion dollars and a free eucalyptus tree with a koala bear in it right in my front yard. I’m not sure if these two videos truly capture the weirdness of what it’s like to just stand there, slack jawed in the sun and gaping at a giant, peeled orange and suddenly have two dozen people screaming for their lives whoosh by at 60 m.p.h.

  • Is that the California Screamin’ coaster? If so, that thing was, in my opinion of course, the BEST ride in the whole park. It’s AWESOME.

  • That’s it! Gah! Thank you, I’ll change it, jeez, it’s like I don’t have Google or something.

  • That;s a great coaster! Totally fun. We LOVE California Soarin’ though…love it.

  • My husband and I totally wanted to ride that when we went recently but had no one to watch the “cheeldren.” Not too long ago, I would have been with you on the bet thing but something’s come over me and all of a sudden I’m all “ROLLERCOASTERS! WOOO!” I even rode those two old deathtraps on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. And liked it! It’s like suddenly, I’m invincible or maybe just stupid.

  • Did you get to watch the people at the start of the ride? I love their faces when it starts because it goes so fast immediately and they are always so surprised

  • Does that ferris wheel go under the water?
