Thanks, you guys, thanks for taking whatever couple minutes out of your life to muscle up some fashion advice for me. It was all very interesting. When you ask people who don’t know you what they think, their answers can tell you more about them than you. You know what I mean? You would if that sentence had some actual grammar in it. Anyway, I think we’re heavily in favor of the gray suit, though the long pink number had a late run! And I am reconsidering it, perhaps with alterations! I would seriously need a wig, though. (Maybe Jenny can lend me her confidence wig, I’ll have to ask.) Follow-up pictures will be occurring, no doubt. It’s not often I get to dress up so you can bet I’ll be milking it for at least one more post.

No, PLEEEEEEEEEZ don’t wear the gray suit! It is very wonderful, and I know it has a lot of sentimental meaning, but it just doesn’t look as FANTASTIC as the pink. Also, you wouldn’t want the guys to think that you were doing some Dita Von Teese thing. It is very lovely, but the pink just isn’t fraught with so many connotations.
And by pink I DON’T mean the Mrs. Robinson shift. I mean the halter.
You look hot in all of them and I actually have a wig that would match any of those outfits. You tell me the outfit, I’ll send you the wig. I may have admitted too much about myself here.
PS. My wedding dress was a used, enormously ruffled monstrosity that my husband picked out. I was certain someone had died in it although I have no proof of that. Also, each of the sleeves were the circumference of a beach ball. It was like I was wearing floaties. Giant, white, sequined floaties.
Hoorah for the grey suit! I think you will look smashing.
Have you considered a fascinator to accessorise? That could be very retro chic.
And apparently only people called “Jennifer”, or a variation thereof, can comment today.
I like it!
I wasn’t in favor of the long pink number because I was afraid people would tease you and call you “Mrs. Roper.”
I just think grey is so somber for a wedding, especially a gay wedding, but you know yourself the best and what you will be the most comfortable in. Even tho it’s a teeny bit schoolmarmish…
As I was going to say before the sign-in page so rudely overwrote my opinion, AHEM:
Grey suit for East Coast;
Pink halter for West Coast.
EITHER gold necklaces or gold earrings with the pink thing, and add some sparkly pink vintage earrings (clip ons) to your shoes to tie them in. Or gold.
Me personally, I don’t like pink. But I know California, they’d like the pink.
Thanks, Xibee, that’s a great comment.
I’m with Jennie. NO to the grey suit. More like, Noooooooooooo! I vote for the pink halter dress also. No need for new shoes. It’s a good fun, not a questionable fun. You look terrific in it. Young and vivacious!
