Cannabis Parade

On September 5, 2008 by Eden M. Kennedy

I’ve seen peace marches in Santa Barbara, I’ve seen farmworkers, gay pride, and dogs dressed in tutus, but this was my very first cannabis parade.

  • They might help their cause more if they didn’t all look like a bunch of pot heads.

  • at least their bongs are under wraps.

  • You know I saw this photo & couldn't help but sing the Weeds theme, "Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes made of ticky-tacky….", so thanks Eden! I'll be singing that for the next eleventy-hundred days. On a related sidenote: When I was a senior in high school, I went to visit my boyfriend who was a freshman at University of Wisconsin-Madison (PARTY SCHOOL!) on the weekend of their annual "Pot Rally". We simply walked from his dorm room to get a pizza on Main Street and got wasted on the contact high. No joke. My father wasn't pleased when he swung by to pick up his giggly daughter later that night.

  • You guys are pretty funny.

  • My Mom probably marched in that parade.

  • Oh man, the camera definitely added ten pounds to me.

  • Ooh, if this was last week, I did march in this parade (I am not in this photo though). I was visiting SB, riding a bike past the dolphin fountain, and they recruited me with a promise of a free t-shirt with a pot leaf on it. I bit. That woman holding the sign has glaucoma and traveled from Portland to join the protest (so I’m told).

So now I can say I’ve been in a cannabis parade, and also I have a t-shirt I can wear … well, nowhere.
