So, my very brilliant mother made up a little song and we would sing to them as we walked: "Hello, Mr. Dragonfly. How are you today?" You can't be scared and sing at the same time. Worked like a charm. When I was little, my sisters and I were afraid of dragonflies, which buzzed in the field we had to cross to get to the pool at our apartment complex.
