I think it is a perfect hyper-po-mo statement. As Le Corbusier asserted, buildings are "machines for living", but people are not machines and do not want to inhabit machines. People need gumdrops and icing and sprinkles more than we need a roof where form follows funtion. Gumdrops soldered together with sugar and lard = art for our times.
