I realize that I’ve spent the whole summer neglecting to tell you that I’ve been spending the bulk of my Internet writing time = elsewhere. So just to get us all up to date, here is a bunch of posts I’ve written so far for Infinite Summer, that thing I mentioned a while back where we were all supposed to be reading the same book together. Remember? No? Yeah, well I’m still at it, believe it or not. I think I finally crossed the equator, which means now I can get that Howling Fantods tattoo I’ve always wanted, and I can pierce my eschatorial lobe, too. Some of what I’ve written over there makes sense, but don’t expect any grave literary intonations from me, I don’t possess that sort of mind. I’m more of the “I’ve got a crush on this character because he’s funny” school of literary criticism, which may be why I got a lot of Cs in English.
Anyway, while I’m blathering on about myself I might as well link to the latest news over at Let’s Panic! I’m having everso much fun writing over there with Alice because everything we post is just flat-out lies, pages and pages of them. Lies! There’s a rumor that some exciting news is afoot for us so I’ll let you know as soon as I find out more.
And no, I haven’t updated yogabeans! for nearly a year, thank you very much, but somehow I still earned a mention in Blogs of Note last month.
Apparently 28% of your life can be crumbling around your ears and at the same time 47.3% of your brain can manage to flourish creatively. Who knew?

Wait! Now I don't know if I saw the last post or not!? I don't know if I am privvy or not! I don't know if you're in subliminal danger or not! I don't know if this is another disaster lurking that I don't need to know about but desperately need to know! @@.
There's a shoe in the air somewhere.
Let's Panic is cracking me the hell up. The birth plan Mad Libs — we really needed that 20 years ago!
Two things. (okay there may be more than two because whenever I pre-number my things – heh – I always go over.)
1. Just about 6 months ago I realized I had adopted "howling fantods" into my lexicon an unspecified amount of time ago and never stopped to think that it didn't occur much outside of IJ.
2. Can you post the pictures of the chile rellenos again, because GAWD, they made me want to make out with my monitor.
(Hey! It was only two things! Let's just ignore the parentheticals and pretend they don't count.)
I wish you hadn't taken it down. It was one of your best posts and so many people are in the same struggle right now. After reading it, as I fell asleep that night, I told my husband I had a post to read to him.
Having said that, I get why you took it down, and I've certainly done the same thing. How much to reveal is always a fine line. Still, I'm glad you wrote it and glad I read it before you took it down. I wish you the best.
Let me know if you find my 47.3%. I've been looking for it everywhere!
Boy! A lot has changed since I visited last: mysterious posts taken down, layout change, you cheating on us with another blog that may or may not be fictious… I like it!
Things crumbling around ears…isn't that where glitter comes from? I think so, which explains the ratio to high creative output, right? (My Cs were in Chemistry, so you may want someone to doublecheck my work.)
congratulations on the strange Blog of Note!
i tried TWICE to buy Infinite Jest and the bookstores were both out.
hm.
Bossy leaves you alone for two minutes while she goes camping and you write a blog post and then take it down? That's the very last time Bossy makes family a priority.
I read that darn Infinite Jest years ago when it came out. What a job that was. I remember tennis and pot and The Year of Band-Aid Brand Bandages and licking sweat off teenage boys and wheelchairs. I'll check in when you guys are close to being done. Maybe someone can explain the ending to me
I loved the post you took down. I told everyone that not only were you a terrific writer (which we already knew) but that you seemed to have hit the heartbeat of America with that post.
I didn't have those exact issues but I did have "bailing out of the stock market" issues when it was at the lowest because I needed the money. Now it's high again. I wish I was.
I just want to say I love and admire you in every way and there should be more people like you in the world.
That is all.
