I'm not a usual reader (Lisa V. sent me here), but this was a great post. My cousin from Ireland was once on a flight with one of the Kennedy grandchildren and while we all waited for their flight to board (this was way pre-9-11 when you could hang around with your family pre-flight). I was embarrassed at how much my cousin gushed and told every other person in the airport (this is one of THE Kennedys). LOL.

Wait a minute. Why was Maggie Gyllenhaal's mom NOT in first class? Doesn't that seem odd to anyone else?

Leslie - how can you forget about them filming Ben Affleck movies and screwing up traffic through Harvard Square. Everyone has gotten a gander at his Easter-Island head.

I am known to totally. lose. my. shit. in the presence of even a minor celebrity. I must say that in the presence of less minor celebrities is harrowing for me. I once made a screaming fan-girl fool out of myself to Lewis Black and was rendered utterly speechless and unable to return conversation when spoken to by Jon Stewart. UGH

My friend was Maggie's roommate in high school and has one of her old sweaters. Our other friend now wears it as a farm sweater and it is all beat to hell. Who knew she'd be so famous?

This story reminds me of when I was 10 and my dad was a cable guy. One day he came home from work and told me about the nice old lady he talked to while fixing her cable. She asked him if he had ever heard of "The Bon Jovis" - this was in 1986. She was Jon Bon Jovi's grandmother and when my dad told me he was in her house I almost died. Then I went up to my room and gazed at my dreamy poster of him.

Firstly, isn't any John Malkovitch siting odd? Shouldn't it be?

I think you could have posted a fingerpaint handprint of the hand that touched the crackers that were previously touched by the mother of Maggie & Jake, and cleaned up on eBay, yes.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the coldhearted running from connection thing. (I guess I fall in the Blurt Something Inappropriate category.) (See i.e., Malkovitch slam ^). But then there was the morning I had just almost foggily ordered my carmel macchiato at Starbucks when my face came within SIX INCHES of Val Kilmer's actual face (just getting his coffee apparently) and my first instinct was DeerinheadlightsturnfindfriendandFreakOut.

Needless to say I don't belong in Hollywood. You do. You've got the cool grey suit.

This is a great story.

I rode the airport shuttle with a movie star - okay, well, she was in a movie, which compared to me (one who watches movies) makes her a star. I was relucant to believe her, however, until I could verify it on IMDB, which was a good thing, because I was able to pull off being cool and unimpressed during our ride. Although I was truly unimpressed when she started telling me all the names of stars her co-stars had been in movies with. Gosh, this is a boring story. I guess my point is, your story? Very good. Funny, too.
