I think it’s great that you’ve gotten this together and made it happen.
However… if the money hasn’t already been sent, can I suggest that you send it to Occupy(http://interoccupy.net/occupysandy/), or use it at the Occupy Amazon gift registry for Sandy(http://www.amazon.com/registry/wedding/2FDVT8QGKJFYR)? The red cross has already gotten millions of dollars and has done very little. Here are some articles about what’s going on with that.

I was going to send it to the Red Cross last night and then I read your comment and now I’m going to look into this a little more. On the one hand, I feel like I should do what I told people I was going to do, but it wouldn’t be responsible not to use everyone’s money in the best way.
Heaven? Kevin? Eleven? Seven? WHAT IS IT?
Since the election, I realized my feeling might be analogous in one way to someone being told ‘you have a lump’ and then finding out it’s nothing. Like–everything’s the same but then all the what ifs make you really glad for the ‘meh’ aspect of nothing changing.
